Millinery workshops: Hats off to farming women
South West Arts in conjunction with Milliners Torb and Reiner are offering regional community members the opportunity to learn to make a hat and/or expand their skills in hat making. Whether you are a beginner or advanced at millinery there will be something for you in these workshops. These workshops have been kindly funded by the Australian Barley Board.
Tutor Waltraud Reiner has an international reputation as both designer and tutor. Her formal Millinery training was undertaken with Frau Bollmann, Munich, Germany, Rose Cory, milliner to the late Queen Mother and Haute Couture London Milliner Phillip Somerville, milliner to the late Princess Diana. Waltraud has exhibited and tutored nationally and internationally, and has won several prestigious millinery awards. Her passion for hats is infectious and Waltraud understands the pressures country life can bring and the important to be able to express feelings by connecting with others and use Hat making to nurture our inner being.
